Xin Ximeng, born in 1938 in Dingzhou, Hebei Province, graduated from The Department of Library Science of Peking University in 1962 and served successively as the deputy director, research librarian, professor, doctoral supervisor and deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Library of Chinese Academy of Sciences (later renamed the Document And Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences). Standing Director of Library Society of China, President of Library Society of Central State Organs and Scientific Research Department. Mr. Xin Ximeng, famous library and information scientist, calligrapher doctoral supervisor, director of Library and Information Institute of Guojie Old Professor Research Institute. As a part-time professor of Peking University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Science and Technology and other universities, he once served as the chief editor of the Library subject of The Encyclopedia of China (second edition). He has published more than 300 papers and presided over and participated in more than 10 national and ministry (provincial) level research projects. He has written and co-authored more than 10 books, such as Intellectual Resources Development and Economic Effects of literature Work, Introduction to Library and Information Work, etc., and has received government subsidies from The State Council and many other honorary awards.
Xin Ximeng is now included in the "China Honors - Recommended to the world national Ceremony artists" one of the sixteen series, was hired as the Chinese national ceremony art master.
