With over three decades of experience in the construction sector, Luo Gang has steadfastly adhered to the principle of leveraging technology to address challenges that others cannot. As a recipient of China's National Outstanding Engineer award, deputy general manager of Hunan University Civil Engineering Testing Co., Ltd., and general manager of Hunan Zhongchuang Special Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., he holds certifications as a first-class registered structural engineer and national registered supervision engineer. More significantly, he has pioneered the "Building Hospital" concept, injecting fresh momentum into building safety and sustainable development, positioning himself as a leader in technological innovation and service enhancement within the industry.

罗刚的建筑生涯始于湖南大学土木工程学院的讲台。多年教学让他夯实了理论根基，却也让他愈发渴望将知识转化为解决实际问题的力量。“传统建筑行业中，检测鉴定、加固设计、施工往往‘各自为战’，沟通断层导致效率低、成本高、质量难保障。”投身工程实践后，他在大型项目中目睹的行业痛点，成为推动他创新的原始动力。
从知名建筑企业到自主创业，罗刚积累了房屋纠偏、结构改造、古建筑保护等领域的丰富经验。他发现，建筑如人，生命周期中会遭遇地基沉降、结构老化、火灾损伤等“疾病”，而“头痛医头、脚痛医脚”的碎片化服务，正是行业提质增效的最大阻碍。“必须打造一个能为建筑提供‘全周期诊疗’的平台。”这一想法，为“建筑医院”理念的诞生埋下伏笔。
Deep Roots in the Field: From Theory to Practical Innovation
Luo Gang's career in construction began on the lecture podium at Hunan University's College of Civil Engineering. Years of teaching solidified his theoretical foundation, yet it also fueled his desire to translate knowledge into solutions for real-world problems. "In the traditional construction industry, testing and appraisal, reinforcement design, and construction often operate in silos, leading to communication gaps that result in low efficiency, high costs, and compromised quality," he observed. After transitioning to engineering practice, the industry pain points he witnessed in major projects became the catalyst for his innovative pursuits.
From roles in prominent construction firms to founding his own ventures, Luo accumulated extensive expertise in building rectification, structural retrofitting, and historic preservation. He recognized that buildings, much like humans, encounter "ailments" throughout their lifecycle, such as foundation settlement, structural aging, and fire damage. Fragmented services—addressing issues in isolation—represented the primary barrier to improving quality and efficiency. "We must create a platform capable of providing full-cycle diagnostics and treatment for buildings," he concluded, laying the groundwork for the "Building Hospital" concept.

2015年，在“大众创业、万众创新”浪潮中，罗刚创立湖南众创特种工程施工有限公司，正式将“建筑医院”理念落地。他将建筑比作“患者”，提出“检测鉴定—加固设计—施工落地”一体化服务模式：专业团队先用先进设备为建筑“体检”，精准定位问题；再结合建筑功能需求设计“诊疗方案”；最后以严苛工艺完成“治疗”，实现从“诊断”到“康复”的全流程闭环。
这一模式的优势在实践中凸显：在某老旧建筑纠偏项目中，团队通过详细检测锁定地基不均匀沉降根源，采用“微型钢管桩+锚杆静压桩”技术，将倾斜建筑精准扶正，消除安全隐患；在某大型商业综合体改造中，他们创新采用“碳纤维布加固+型钢托换”工艺，既满足新商业布局需求，又提升了结构安全等级；在一座百年古建筑保护中，团队以“最小干预”原则，用隐蔽式加固技术保留原貌，让文化遗产重获新生。十余年来，罗刚带领团队完成复杂项目超500个，涵盖房屋纠偏、火灾加固、文物保护等领域，“建筑医院”的专业口碑响彻行业。

In 2015, amid China's push for mass entrepreneurship and innovation, Luo established Hunan Zhongchuang Special Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., formally implementing the "Building Hospital" framework. Analogizing buildings to patients, he introduced an integrated service model encompassing testing and appraisal, reinforcement design, and construction execution. Specialized teams begin with advanced equipment for comprehensive "physical examinations" to pinpoint issues accurately; they then develop tailored "treatment plans" aligned with the building's functional requirements; finally, they apply rigorous processes to complete the "therapy," achieving a closed-loop process from diagnosis to recovery.
The model's efficacy has been demonstrated in practice. In a project involving the rectification of an aging structure, the team identified uneven foundation settlement through detailed assessments and employed micro steel pipe piles combined with anchor static pressure piles to precisely realign the tilted building, eliminating safety risks. For a major commercial complex retrofit, they innovated with carbon fiber fabric reinforcement and steel beam underpinning techniques, accommodating new layout demands while elevating structural safety standards. In preserving a century-old historic building, the team adhered to a "minimal intervention" principle, using concealed reinforcement methods to maintain the original appearance and revitalize the cultural heritage. Over the past decade, Luo has led his team in completing more than 500 complex projects across building rectification, fire damage reinforcement, and artifact protection, establishing the "Building Hospital" as a benchmark for professional excellence in the sector.

凭借突出贡献，罗刚先后获评“创新中国建筑加固行业十大榜样人物”“中国品牌十大匠心人物”，2024年更当选“中国建筑学会建筑改造和城市更新专业委员会委员”。但他并未止步于个人成就，而是将实践经验转化为行业共识。
2025年2月，他代表企业参编中国工程建设标准化协会《建筑体检与评价通则》《建筑体检与评价 室内环境》《建筑体检与评价 外围护》三项团体标准。“标准是行业的‘度量衡’。”他结合项目案例，提出“建筑全生命周期风险评估指标”“检测数据动态更新机制”等建议，推动行业从“经验判断”向“科学规范”转型。
Professional Expertise Forging Industry Reputation
Through his notable contributions, Luo has been honored as one of the "Top 10 Exemplary Figures in China's Innovative Building Reinforcement Industry" and among "China's Top 10 Brand Craftsmen of Integrity." In 2024, he was elected to the Committee on Building Retrofit and Urban Renewal of the China Architectural Society. However, he has not rested on personal accolades but has channeled practical insights into broader industry standards.
In February 2025, representing his enterprise, he contributed to the compilation of three group standards by the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization: "General Rules for Building Physical Examination and Evaluation," "Building Physical Examination and Evaluation: Indoor Environment," and "Building Physical Examination and Evaluation: Exterior Enclosure." "Standards serve as the industry's measuring rod," he noted, incorporating project case studies to propose elements such as "full-lifecycle risk assessment indicators for buildings" and "dynamic update mechanisms for testing data," facilitating a shift from empirical judgments to scientifically grounded norms.

“‘建筑医院’不应止步于‘治病’，更要‘治未病’。”罗刚正带领团队拓展服务边界：从既有建筑加固向新建建筑全周期管理延伸，提供从规划设计到运营维护的一站式技术支持；开发“建筑医院”APP实现线上线下融合，客户可一键预约检测、查看进度，团队则通过远程诊断提升服务效率；加大研发投入，探索AI技术在建筑病害预测、加固方案优化中的应用。
Industry Leadership: Advancing Norms Through Standards and Accountability
"The 'Building Hospital' should extend beyond curing ailments to preventing them," Luo emphasizes. He is guiding his team to expand service boundaries: from reinforcing existing structures to managing the full lifecycle of new constructions, offering end-to-end technical support from planning and design to operations and maintenance. They are developing a "Building Hospital" app for seamless online-offline integration, enabling clients to schedule inspections and monitor progress with a single click, while the team enhances efficiency through remote diagnostics. Additionally, increased R&D investments are exploring artificial intelligence applications in predicting building pathologies and optimizing reinforcement strategies.
