From a young school doctor who began practicing with silver needles at the age of 15 to the renowned "National Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine" he is today, he has dedicated half a century of unwavering commitment. 李康太的从医之路，始于一段特殊的青春岁月。1967年，15岁的他正值中学时代，恰逢全国开展“学工、学农、学军”活动，凭借优异的表现和坚定的信念，他被学校择优推送学习草药与针灸，从此与中医药结下不解之缘，更肩负起学校校医的职责，在青涩年华里种下“济世救人”的种子。
Li Kangtai's medical journey began during a unique phase of his youth. In 1967, at the age of 15 while still in middle school, he participated in the nationwide "Study in Industry, Agriculture, and Military" campaign. Through outstanding performance and unwavering determination, he was selected by his school to study herbal medicine and acupuncture, thereby forging an inseparable bond with traditional Chinese medicine. He also took on the responsibility of serving as the school's physician, planting the seed of "saving lives and healing the sick" in his youthful years.
1971年，他正式参加工作，投身湛江农垦局建设农场的医疗事业，成为兵团八师十团的一员。白天，他是扛枪练武、割胶站岗的武装连重机枪手；夜晚，他则化身守护战友健康的“白衣卫士”，随身携带的银针，既是应急救治的工具，更是他医者身份的象征。
In 1971, he officially commenced his career, dedicating himself to the medical services of the farm construction under the Zhanjiang Agricultural Reclamation Bureau, becoming a member of the 10th Regiment of the 8th Division of the Production and Construction Corps. By day, he served as a heavy machine gunner in the armed company, practicing martial arts with his rifle and patrolling rubber tapping stations. By night, he transformed into a "white-clad guardian" protecting his comrades' health, carrying silver needles that served not only as emergency treatment tools but also as a symbol of his identity as a physician.

在基层行医的岁月里，李康太的医术在实战中不断精进，更留下了诸多救死扶伤的动人瞬间。1974年深夜，一名临产妇宫口已开、流血不止，值班医生束手无策，危急时刻，他果断用银针点刺“至阴”穴，再辅以腹部按压，最终助产妇顺利顺产，母女平安；农场院长急性腰扭伤，被众人搀扶着无法行走，他仅在“人中”穴施针片刻，院长便疼痛立消，自行下床活动。
During his years of practicing medicine at the grassroots level, Li Kangtai's medical skills were continuously refined through practical experience, leaving behind numerous touching moments of saving lives and healing the wounded. In the late night of 1974, a parturient woman with an open cervical os and uncontrolled bleeding was at a loss for what to do. In this critical moment, he decisively applied silver needles to the "Zhiyin" acupoint, supplemented by abdominal pressure, ultimately assisting the woman in a smooth vaginal delivery, ensuring the safety of both mother and child. When the farm director suffered an acute lumbar sprain and was unable to walk with the help of others, he merely applied acupuncture to the "Renzhong" acupoint for a brief moment, after which the director's pain immediately subsided, and she was able to get out of bed and move on her own.
在条件艰苦的连队，他上山采草药、自种药材补充药物不足，无论是战友的脚踝肿痛，还是村民的急腹症，他都以精准的诊断和精湛的针灸技术，一次次化解危机，用行动践行着“急病人之所急，痛病人之所痛”的誓言。
In the harsh conditions of the company, he would climb mountains to gather herbal medicines and cultivate medicinal plants to supplement his own supply. Whether it was the swollen and painful ankles of his comrades or the acute abdominal conditions of villagers, he consistently resolved crises with precise diagnoses and superb acupuncture techniques, putting into practice his pledge to 'respond to the urgent needs of patients and alleviate their suffering.'
精益求精，在专业道路上永不止步
Strive for perfection, never stop on the professional road
这份对医学的敬畏与执着，让李康太在专业道路上从未停歇。1978年，在农场医院86名医生的晋升考试中，他以全院第一名的成绩晋升医士，成为当时最年轻的卫技16级医士；后来，他又考取中华针灸进修学院大专学历，通过论文答辩圆满毕业，更成为广东省第一批执业医师资格考试的通过者。
This reverence and dedication to medicine kept Li Kangtai moving forward on his professional path. In 1978, he topped the promotion exam for 86 doctors at the farm hospital, becoming the youngest medical technician of the 16th grade. Later, he obtained an associate degree from the Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion Advanced Studies College, successfully defended his thesis, and became one of the first batch of licensed physicians in Guangdong Province.
凭借扎实的理论功底和丰富的临床经验，他创办个体诊所，将诊疗服务延伸到更多需要的地方。数十年来，他深耕针灸领域，擅长治疗偏瘫、针刺戒烟等，凭借独特的中医特色疗法斩获“中医特色疗法奖”，更先后被授予“中医非遗传传承人”“中医传承优秀导师”“中医药杰出贡献人物”等多项荣誉。2023年，他被国医文化传承委员会正式授予“国医名师”称号，这份沉甸甸的荣誉，是对他半生行医之路的最高认可。
With a solid theoretical foundation and extensive clinical experience, he established a private clinic to extend medical services to more underserved areas. For decades, he has dedicated himself to the field of acupuncture, specializing in the treatment of hemiplegia and smoking cessation through acupuncture. His unique traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapies earned him the "TCM Characteristic Therapy Award," and he has been honored with multiple accolades, including "Non-heritable TCM Inheritor," "Outstanding TCM Inheritance Mentor," and "Distinguished Contributor to TCM." In 2023, he was officially conferred the title of "National TCM Master" by the National TCM Culture Inheritance Committee. This prestigious honor represents the highest recognition of his lifelong medical career.

Now, Li Kangtai, who is over seventy years old, still remains on the front lines of medical care, holding multiple roles such as a specially invited expert of the Chinese Medicine Information Society's Specialty Therapy and New Technology Branch and a lecturer of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Lecture Group at Guizhou Zhicheng Life Health Science Research Institute. He not only continues to alleviate patients' suffering but also actively engages in the inheritance and popularization of traditional Chinese medicine culture, sharing his half-a-century of accumulated experience with younger generations without reservation.
他常说：“中医药是中华民族的瑰宝，我们有责任和义务将它传承好、发展好、利用好。”在他的言传身教下，越来越多的年轻人爱上了中医药，加入到传承和发展中医药事业的行列中来。
